Five of Swords, Lo Scarabeo - Better Off WithoutToday’s prompt is “What is something I would be better off without for now?” In previous posts, I’ve learned that I need to focus on the middle path and use my energy for more action-relation purposes. If I do this, I will be on track to move forward toward my highest self. Part of how I can achieve this is to limit my social media and use it for a purpose instead of as a time-waster.

There are more swords in today’s readings. Swords are about the mind, including thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs.  Logic, order, boundaries, and “right-thinking” are all encompassed, but swords are double-edged. Swords can be painful when cutting away what isn’t needed.

The first card for today is the Five of Swords. If you remember, this came up on day 2 of this month-long challenge where it felt like turning away from things or people who aren’t helping me move forward. Ten of Swords - Lo Scarabeo - Better off withoutToday the Five of Swords feels more specific. It is going to hurt, but I need to eliminate something from my life right now.

The next card is the Ten of Swords. Tens are endings, but also new beginnings. In this deck (Lo Scarabeo), the image includes a person walking into a sunrise, leaving the detritus and churned-up battlefield behind. With the Five of Swords I’m engulfed in conflict, but the Ten tells me to end it and walk away. I’m better off without it.

Knight of Cups - Lo Scarabeo - Better off withoutThe third card is the Knight of Cups. Upright, this card generally indicates slow, steady action based on careful management of emotions, words, and actions. In this reading however it represents conflict, not handling emotions well, and overstimulation.

What I understand from this spread, considering the past 4 days of this challenge, is that I need to put aside thoughts and items that just bring conflict. I’m better off without social media and my daydreaming.  This is going to be so difficult for me because I spend a lot of time on social media! This is about as clear as it gets, but I’m already feeling stress as a lump in my chest. But I trust something better will come along to fill the time spent on social media.

My small steps have continued. While I didn’t do too much yesterday, I did stop using re-watching TV and re-reading the same old books as a self-soothing measure. Today’s small step: removing Twitter, Instagram, and FB from my phone.

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
