Family Tarot readings are not that common, but generally occur because of a major disagreement. Usually, the reading focuses on relationships between siblings or between parents and children. Emotions are high and the person asking for the reading thinks they want to know what the other part is thinking or doing.

Explore Only What You Have Control Over

Family Tarot readingIf you have a family issue a Tarot reading can help:

  • identify the root of the issue,
  • clarify the choices you have,
  • and suggest actions you can take.

However, you cannot control another person. I usually won’t do a Tarot reading about a person other than the client. First of all, consent is required. The Tarot seems to returns vague or inconclusive readings when done strictly about another person. Secondly, it doesn’t really give you anything you can do about the situation.

As an example, let’s say the client is worried about their emotionally unstable sibling. They are both adults. The sibling lives and works on their own. The only thing the client can control is their own emotions, their own feelings, and reactions to their sibling’s words and actions. In a reading similar to this we first explored “How can I make sure my sibling seeks the help they need?” The response was extremely blunt – “You can’t. Stay in your own ‘garden’ and  tend to your business.” We did a second reading on “How best can I support my sibling?” and received a much more useful response.

Am I Being Lied To?

This question comes up in all kinds of relationship readings, especially in parent-child readings. I completely understand why you want to know if you are being lied to, but what will you do with that information? This is one of those Yes/No questions that aren’t suited for Tarot readings. A better question that gives you more context and advice is “What do I need to know about my child’s honesty?” or even “How can I foster more honest communication with my child?”

A State of the Family Tarot Reading

Once a client wanted a general “state of the family” tarot reading. I nearly turned it down, but then I thought about it. The topic isn’t one person individually, it was the family as a unit (this was just mom, dad, and teen kids). We worked with the question “What should we work on as a family for the next six months”. I’m so glad I did it! The results were interesting, showing good communication already in place and suggested working together on creative projects. The client said they planned a house remodel during the period, so it was obvious that the parents needed to get input and buy-in with their kids.

Just as in romantic relationships, a Tarot reading for family relationships can help identify the root of problems, show you the choices you have, and help in decision making. You might even consider a “state of the family” tarot reading!

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
