Last year I tested a 72-day class where I revealed one card per day, discussing the meanings and how to interpret the card, and asked questions relating to the card. The testers really liked the class, but it was pretty arduous. I followed an organizational model based on “Around the Tarot in 78 Days” which I felt was counter-intuitive and confusing.
For six months I dithered whether or not more Tarot classes are really necessary. There are a ton of them out there on the internet. What I finally realized was that my target audience needed to be Tarot clients rather than readers.
Tarot Classes for Clients
If a person understands how Tarot works, the interplay of the cards, and their basic meanings, then Tarot readings can be far more useful. Take cars as an example. Though I can’t do much other than drive a car, there is a basic body of knowledge that helps me.
I know when the sound of the car is wrong, how to check and put in oil and add wiper fluid, and what the lights on my dashboard mean.
These new Tarot classes will offer some knowledge of the card meanings and how Tarot readers put them together for a reading. As a potential client, you will be able to notice images that call out to you and point them out to the reader for a deeper, more personal reading. For example, take the Five of Cups. Perhaps the bridge jumps out at you. You know bridges are about transition and can ask the reader if this transition is relevant to your reading. Because you noticed it, that bridge likely is important and relevant..
Most Tarot readers, the good ones, would love to have an informed client, one with whom they can really get to the bottom of the issue. Hopefully, these Tarot classes will provide that education.
Tarot Classes I’m Considering
I’m currently working on four classes:
- Understanding the Minor Arcana – the Ace through 10 of each suit
Learning the classic meanings behind each card as well as how they work together
- Understanding the Court Cards – the Page, Knight, Queen, and King of each suit
Court cards can represent people or characteristics. How readers determine which.
- Understanding the Major Arcana – the 22 cards from Fool to the World
Understanding the Fool’s Path, the role of the Major Arcana as indicator or major themes or life lessons, as well as the card meaning.
- Getting the Most from a Tarot Reading
Choosing a reader, crafting your question, what to expect during and after the reading, and following through.
Tarot Class Format
Each class will be self-directed and self-paced online. You will have lifetime access to the class, as long as I continue to offer them. Since I strongly believe that personal communication is important, students will be able to contact me directly by email or Facebook Messenger for anything from answering questions to discussing the meaning of a card.
The Tarot classes will consist mostly of images and written material. There may occasionally be audio or video which you can access.
How Much for the Classes?
Classes are meant to be priced inexpensively so that most people can access them, while still compensating me for the hosting and my time. Right now I’m looking at:
- Understanding the Minor Arcana – $35.00
- Understanding the Court Cards – $25.00
- Understanding the Major Arcana – $35.00
- Getting the Most from a Tarot Reading – $25.00

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot
I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.
Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
