Another end of the work week, another look forward and back at what worked and what didn’t. Last week the cards suggested some changes, choices, and the need to keep pushing through. While I didn’t personally experience any major changes, some of my clients did! My other job is as a web developer and programmer and two clients had major issues with their websites that did shake them up quite a bit! My job was to deal with the issues, get the sites back up and running, and present options so that it wouldn’t happen again. Overall, it was a crazy week! This week looks less crazy, so let’s look at the cards. I’m using the Lo Scarabeo deck here.

Seven of Pentacles: Your Work Isn’t Done Yet

Seven of Pentacles - Lo Scarabeo - workThe Seven of Cups shows a figure leaning on his shovel or staff, but not really paying attention to their crop which is in dire need of help! This card reminds us that, while we may celebrate small victories, the work is not complete. Take an inventory of what you have going on, both personally and with work. What have you been ignoring? What needs attention? What needs cutting out completely? While pentacles usually refer to more material, physical things, this could be a reminder to look at what is on your mind. What haven’t you resolved internally or mentally? As the next two cards concentrate more on thoughts and feelings, you may need to do some internal mental reviews as well.

Nine of Swords: It All Just Seems Like Too Much

Nine of Swords - Lo Scarabeo WorkDoing the inventory of what you’ve been ignoring or need to let go of might cause you some panic or anxiety. The Nine of Swords is all about panic, anxiety, headaches, and nightmares, but the thing to remember is that it is all in your head. Do you need to place so much importance on that unfinished work? What can you do to relieve your mind about it? Recently I cleaned out my office and found many, many unfinished projects. Half-finished knitting, supplies for projects I never did, an assortment of things I forgot I even had. I bit the bullet and just got rid of everything that I hadn’t touched in the last six months. Was it painful? Did I second-guess myself after taking piles to Goodwill? Yes and yes! But now I feel so much freer. The relief and space resulted in a burst of creative work that amazed me. Get rid of those metaphorical swords hovering over you! Ace of Cups - Lo Scarabeo - work

Ace of Cups: Self Care

Aces have several meanings (as do most cards) but the one I feel most strongly for this spread is self-care. It reminds us that taking care of what you are ignoring and pruning away what you no longer want, though painful, is a part of self-care. This is one of my favorite cards because it reminds us that we can be renewed and refreshed. The chalice in the image is always full to overflowing, so letting go of something now doesn’t mean you are left with nothing. Instead, you are making space for more to pour in.

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.

Half-finished projects could be my middle name! I am formulating a plan to fix that. Here’s to a happy week!

I’m committing myself to finish a project and not starting another until it is done. Right now I’m working on a knitted throw blanket for a good friend to use up a bunch of yarn (and also because she’s my friend). I’m at the part where I really want to start something else, but discipline is good for me. You’re never too old to learn discipline!

Wow, that is similar to what I will be writing about this week, although it isn’t based on a reading. This reading definitely resonated with me. I do still have work to do, and things to let go of, and self-care is very much needed right now. Thanks!
