Destruction, momentum, and choices; hold onto your hats because this coming week looks turbulent. I asked “What can we expect for the upcoming week?” and received three Major Arcana Cards, The Tower, The Chariot, and The Lovers.
Major Arcana cards represent major themes or life lessons in our lives. These are strong energies that indicate turbulence, uncertainty, and disorder until the theme or lesson has played out.
The Tower – Destruction
The first card, The Tower, is all about rapid and complete change. We often see this as destruction because it shakes us down to our foundation or core. While destruction isn’t always bad, after all, we have to destroy in order to build something new, it can be painful and difficult to experience.
We often see The Tower as representing big changes, and it does, but it also can represent smaller changes that are as personally momentous as a huge change might be. Quitting or losing a job, breaking a treasured heirloom, or removing yourself from toxic information streams could all fall under this card. Whatever it is, be prepared and don’t lose hope because the next two cards tell us how to deal with this change.
The Chariot – Momentum
The Chariot is all about having a path and following it, no matter what happens. In this card, you can see the Charioteer driving their coach with two horses, one black and one white. Each pulls in different directions, but the Charioteer uses their own force of will to keep moving forward on the path they’ve chosen.
The message here is clear; the destruction may be all around you, but you know what you need to do. You might already have a plan in place, so now is the time to lean into it with all of your will, moving through and away from the destruction of the Tower.
Sometimes we just can’t figure out what to do. Our path is hidden from us and we can’t manage the strength to see where we go from here. At times like these step back, identify your core values and what is important to you, and plan a path that allows you to honor your values.
The Lovers – Choices and Partnership
Finally, the Lovers card reminds us that we aren’t alone or without choices. In the classical version of this card, the two Lovers are faced with obstacles and paths that represent their choices to surmount the obstacle. In the Light Seer’s Tarot version seen here, the emphasis is on partnership and reconciling different parts to create a new whole.
Big changes, like the destruction of the Tower, result in lots of conflicting emotions. You’ve identified your core values and are driving straight on your path, but what to? The Tarot is telling you to work on reconciling those opposing feelings, emotions, and even people to create a new whole.
Conclusion
It is going to be a stormy week, in more than one way. Don’t give up, we’ll all get through the destruction, but it will require determination and some work on our part, identifying and sticking to our values and learning to reconcile the different aspects of what arises.
What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot
I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.
Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
So what you’re saying is – better buckle up next week, it’s gonna be a rough ride?
Interesting about the Charioteer. When I was 15, my job counselor told me I had too many horses (interests) pulling in different directions, and I needed to make a decision and stick to the path. Easier said than done.
Thank you for sharing this insightful post about what we can expect in the upcoming week, and how these cards can guide us through tough times like this.
I don’t know much about how it all works, but it is fascinating. If someone was doing the same reading with the same deck, wouldn’t there is a good chance that different cards would be drawn?
Seems like the week is going to be a roller coaster ride.Sometimes we have to do the hard thing even it’s difficult. It’s probably going to be that kind of week.
The deck definitely does make the difference as each one uses different symbolism. I generally choose a deck to read from depending on the question, but I’ve been working with the Light Seer’s Tarot lately because of its more balance use of male and female figures and updated use of symbols. I think choosing the deck can actually be part of the reading at times. I think this subject would make a good blog post!
