Tarot has long been known as a tool for divination and fortune-telling. However, it is also a powerful tool for personal growth and self-reflection. By tapping into the symbols and archetypes within the cards, one can gain insight into their own life, emotions, and inner workings. In this blog post, we will explore how Tarot can be used as a tool for personal growth and self-reflection, and offer tips on how to use the cards to gain insights into oneself and one’s life.
Before beginning a Tarot reading for personal growth and self-reflection, it’s important to have a clear intention in mind. What is it that you want to gain insight into? Is there a specific question or issue you’re struggling with? By setting a clear intention, you can ensure that the reading is focused and relevant to your needs.
Once you’ve laid out the cards, take some time to reflect on each one. What does it mean to you? What emotions or memories does it bring up? How does it relate to your question or intention? How will this help your personal growth? Allow yourself to sit with each card and explore its meaning in relation to your life. Don’t be afraid to use the booklet that came with the deck, books, or the internet to interpret card meanings! But do look at the cards and their symbols before cracking open a book. How does the card make you feel? What catches your eye?
Finally, take some time to journal your insights and reflections from the reading. Write down any patterns or connections you noticed, as well as any new insights or realizations you gained. By putting your thoughts and feelings into words, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your life.
In conclusion, Tarot can be a powerful tool for personal growth and self-reflection. By setting a clear intention, choosing a relevant spread, reflecting on the cards, looking for patterns and connections, and journaling your insights, you can use Tarot to gain insights into yourself and your life. Whether you’re struggling with a specific issue or just looking to deepen your understanding of yourself, Tarot can be a valuable tool on your journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
Start with a clear intention

Choose a spread
The easiest spread is just three cards. The first position can be how you got to the current situation or the background. The second position can be what the real issue is regarding the situation, and the final position for action you need to take. I don’t suggest using a spread such as the Celtic Cross. The Celtic Cross can be a powerful spread, but it is definitely for advanced Tarot users, and is difficult to get the full meaning for newer users. I often use a “no-spread” when I have a problem. I center on the issue at hand and then ask questions, drawing a random card as an answer to each question. This is a great exercise for going deep into personal growth type of problems or questions.Reflect on the cards

For personal growth, look for patterns and connections
As you reflect on each card, look for patterns and connections between them. Are there any cards that seem to be linked or related to one another? Are there any themes that emerge across the reading? Pay attention to these connections, as they may hold important insights into your life and inner workings. Specifically, look at the suits, the numbers, and the progression. Each suit has its own sphere of influence. For example, if all three of your cards are Cups you are probably dealing a highly emotional issue. Numbers also have meaning and how the numbers fall can help you see if you are moving forward or back.Journal your insights

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot
I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.
Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
