Looking for an easy Tarot spread that you can use every day?  The Stop, Start, Continue spread words really well for this. I use it for myself daily and for clients who have signed up to receive my weekly 3-card draw. It works best with a question such as “What do I need to know about today (or this next week)?”  I’ve seen this spread around the internet, but I was first introduced to it at Biddy Tarot.

Simply shuffle the deck and lay the cards out one after the other, whichever way you read the cards. Some people read left to right, others right to left, it doesn’t really matter.

Easy Tarot Spread: Stop, Start, Continue

Heaven & Earth Tarot (Click to see larger image)

The first position is Start. This represents what you need to start doing, what you need to add to your life. In the spread above, The Hermit suggests I need to spend some time shining my light on my own issues rather than going out into the world and solving other people’s problems! It might also refer to the fact that I’m itching to get out and do something, but I should stay safe at home.

The second position is Stop. This is something that you need to stop doing, something that is likely sabotaging my efforts or a bad habit I’ve fallen into. In this spread, the position is filled by the Empress. Usually, I read Stop cards with their reversed meanings if the upright doesn’t scan well. There can be a sense of escapism and disconnect with the reversed Empress that feels true to me in this reading. I’ve been indulging a lot in binging Netflix shows, to the detriment of things I should be doing.

Finally, the third position indicates what I should Continue doing. Obviously, this is something I’m currently involved in or a habit that I’m being encouraged to continue. For this position, I pulled the King of Wands. I’ve been working hard on my business this week, including creating blog posts, so the Tarot is encouraging me to continue with this creative endeavor.

I’d love to see your own spreads! Share them in the comments!
