While I have been enjoying the September Tarot Challenge, some of the prompts here at the end seem like earlier ones just rephrased. For example, today’s prompt was “if Tarot would be my soul currency, what card would make me wealthy?” My mind immediately rejected this prompt, so I’m just not going to do it!
Instead, let’s look forward to October. Stretching myself is important to my continued growth, so my challenge is going to look more at predictions and not just self-discovery. Self-discovery is good and I’m not finished, but I do need a break. I’ve been hit with a lot of information, a lot of it emphasized through repetition, and time is needed to really grok what I’ve learned and been told.
Predicting Outcomes
Every day I will open up Google news and choose one news item where the conclusion is unknown. Preferably the story should have some kind of conclusion in the nearer term, such as a trial, election, or a decision taken. I’m not going to include missing persons or murder/assault types of cases because this isn’t meant to intrude into someone’s grief. The purpose of this challenge is simply to see if I can accurately predict an outcome by using Tarot.
If you want to play along, you can follow on Twitter by using the hashtag #OctoberDivinationChallenge. You can also post your result as a comment to the day’s blog, or just blog on your own site! Using my prompt isn’t necessary. Feel free to use your own prompt and start predicting!
Predicting the Success of This Challenge
I’ll view this challenge as a success if I make a prediction every day in October. I’d love to have a majority of my predictions turn out correct, but even if they don’t I will have an answer to my question “can I predict future events?”
My reading today is “how will my October challenge turn out.” This question is purposefully vague to see what comes up and just get an overview.
First up is the Ace of Cups and a strong feeling of rightness. This is a good idea and a way to connect to and deepen my intuition and card reading. What really stands out about this card today is the feeling of the base of the goblet in the hand. This is a strange feeling to have and it feels supportive, helpful, and safe.
Predicting Problems
Sometimes things that are good for us aren’t very comfortable. The Eight of Swords reminds me that I will need to both open my inner eye or intuition, but also watch out for preconceptions, hopes, and desires. This card also reminds me that I can walk away from the challenge if it becomes too difficult, confusing, or causes too many issues. This is a challenge and supposed to be work, but not a chore!
Predicting Success
If I do stick with it, there is growth in my future, but I will have to work at it! In the classic meaning, The Seven of Pentacles card is about seeing how far you’ve come, growth, and beginning to see the results of hard work. And I feel all of this for this reading. But the “fruits” of this card seem to be dead on the vine. The gardener isn’t particularly good or hasn’t worked hard enough. He’s not going to have much of a crop! So I’m getting an ambiguous feeling. I think the meaning is that what I get out of this challenge will be different than what I think it will be now.
Yes or No For Predicting the Future Challenge
Yes, I should do it, but it will require work and will be difficult. Results will be unexpected, but overall positive. I’m anxious to see how this plays out. In the meantime, I’ll go back to the September Tarot Challenge prompts and start this new challenge on October 1st.
What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot
I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.
Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
