Yesterday’s September Challenge Tarot spread suggested I work on some goals, and I did! There are a couple that I’m pretty excited about. Today’s prompt is “What is taking up my subconscious? How is this affecting me?” Of course, the cards keep dealing the big energy: two more Major Arcanas and another court card!

Opening Up to My Subconscious

Judgment - Lo Scarabeo - subconsciousJudgment makes another appearance and bluntly tells me to ask my subconscious directly what I want to know. Accessing subconscious knowledge works through meditation, mindfulness, and working with the Tarot and other tools. This card feels very pushy: open up, open up, open up!

The next card is the Hanged One. I feel a link between the Hanged One in this spread and the Hermit, which appeared yesterday.  Where the Hermit advocates a more active contemplation or searching. The Hanged One is static. The work comes from within and requires a change of perspective.

Inspiration Bubble Up

The Hanged One - Lo Scarabeo - subconsciousLooking at the first two cards in the context of the prompt, the way I interact with my subconscious is changing. A new perspective of how I view and work with my subconscious is occurring. This is very true. Limited my social media has made a huge change in my life. The space for creativity suddenly appeared and bits and pieces bubbled to the top of my conscious mind. On Monday, 0ut of the blue, or rather out of my subconscious, a poem appeared.  I started work on another yesterday.

Changing the Subconscious Interface

I think the subconscious doesn’t change, but the interface does. The way a person connects to, understands, and works with the subconscious can be changed. Some call it “becoming intuitive” or “trusting your gut”. Some people have a really great interface that allows them to use their subconscious knowledge and access what I call the dark stream of the collective unconscious. We usually call those people psychics.

King of Wands - Lo Scarabeo - subconsciousHow do the changes affect me? The King of Wands is about inspiration, ideas, and charismatic leadership. I’m not personally a fan of the Wand court cards; they are too extroverted for me. However, they are linked to getting things done! The King uses all of that fiery energy to make things happen.

The simple answer is a desire for change. A desire to be more creative and get things out of my head and into the real world. It affects me by pushing me out into the public eye; to share what I’m creating and accept feedback. Even to just get it out of my head so other ideas have space.

A Caveat

Part of me, and it is the part of me that gatekeeps the subconscious, my inner critic, is warning to not get too caught up. My tendency to go all in on something and then burn out in short order alerts my critic. She’s telling me to slow down, go read a comfortable book, and do what I’ve done before because it is easy, safe, and known. I’m still figuring out how to muzzle my critic and keep it from blocking the connection to my subconscious.

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
