Today’s prompt is “What have I been putting off that could be good for me?” As a professional procrastinator, this should prove interesting.
Contemplation is Good For Me
The Hermit always reminds me of Diogenes, searching the earth for one honest person. This is the card of contemplation, of looking within for the truth or answers. There is more, but this is what resonates most with me in this card.
When I read Tarot, I like to look at each card individually and recall their classic or “book” meanings. While doing that, some of the meanings may have more weight or may just feel right. Other times the meaning will just jump out at me. With the work I’ve been doing on myself this month, cards have been speaking very loudly to me and this is the case for the Hermit.
And all of that contemplation connects to the next card, Judgment.
Making Decisions
Life can’t be fully lived in just contemplation and that would not be good for me. I’m already very isolated. At some point, decisions need to be made. Judgment is about being called out and being forced into a decision. The iconography on this card is nearly always Christian, with the angel blowing the trumpet on judgment day and the dead rising out of their graves. What pops out at me in this card is that I need to do more than just think, I need to make some decisions.
As I tell my clients, the Tarot will always push you to action.
Return of the Emperor
He’s back and he’s not happy. He’s looking right at the Hermit and Judgment and telling me that I already know what I need to do. I just need to do it. And he’s right. I’ve been making all of these smaller changes (although I’ve been slacking the past two days) and now is time to take bigger steps. We are talking about goals here and they would be good for me for sure.
What do I really want out of the last half of my life? What do I want to accomplish? I’m going to use the tremendous energy represented by these cards, think about that, and decide upon some goals.
What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot
I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.
Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
