The Emperor - Lo Scarabeo - RestartI’m on day eleven of my September Tarot Challenge. Today’s prompt is “What Can Use a Restart or Different Approach?” I’ve been doing many things differently during this challenge, making small changes, so this prompt interests me; what else do I need to approach differently?

Again, some repeat cards show up: The Emperor and the Devil.

The Emperor and The Devil: Restart or Rethink?

The Emperor tells me to rethink my responsibilities and my interests. That’s it. That’s all I get from this card. I rarely get such a clear meaning, so I’m leaving it there.

The Devinl - Lo Scarabeo - RestartThe Devil, which appeared in yesterday’s spread, is about the ego and its wants and desires. Together with the Emperor, they tell me to take a different approach to what I’m spending my attention on.  Looking around my office, I have a lot of hobbies that I’m not currently pursuing. I’m being encouraged to “restart” them. Having everything in view causes stress because I think I should be doing something with them. I stop seeing them as fun hobbies and view them with resentment, as something I “should” do something with.  The Emperor and Devil encourage me to go back to the beginning and understand why I liked those hobbies to begin with.

Restart, Remember, Rethink

The Queen of Swords represents rational thought, mental work, and logic, among other things.  Her appearance in this spread confirms that the “different approach” or “restart “refers to my thoughts about my hobbies. How can I change the sense of guilt I feel when I see my unfinished stuff? How can I restart my attitude towards my interests?

Queen of Swords - Lo Scarabeo - RestartThis is a tough one. My first reaction is to work on letting the feeling of needing to pursue these hobbies right now just go. There are a few things I could physically get rid of. I have an expensive fine knitting machine that, frankly, isn’t bringing me any joy. I could sell it and all of its accessories for quite a bit of money.

I’m sure there are other things I have that could also go away and I’d never miss them. Thinking about my attitude towards these hobbies will take some time and reflection.

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
