Tarot cards work a lot with movement and this might be somewhat confusing for some people. Merriam-Webster defines movement as:

The act or process of moving
especially: change of place or position or posture.

The Tarot is full of movement; the Major Arcana describes a journey through lessons that need to be learned in order to grow emotionally and spiritually. The Minor Arcana, which deals with more day-to-day issues or helps explain or flesh out the Major Arcana, is full of movement cards such as the Knight cards, the Eights of Wands and Cups, and the Seven of Swords.

Movement as Leveling Up

Wheel of Fortune

Modern Witch Tarot

As the Wheel of Fortune shows us, we are always moving forward, whether we like it or not. Days and nights come and go, and weeks turn into months, which in turn become years. But our individual movement is our progress along a path that brings us closer to our spiritual whole. If you are religious this might a deity such as God, Allah, or Krishna. For those who aren’t religious, we might see our path as a single-player video game where we play through each screen, leveling up and becoming more powerful.

Leveling up is a phrase I use quite a bit in my readings. There is quite a bit of energy around leveling up. Everyone around you is on their own path, and leveling up sometimes means leaving friends, family members, or romantic attachments behind. That isn’t to say you have to cut them out of your life! Instead, it means that what you value and what they value may no longer be the same thing.

This kind of movement affects you in other ways. You might be the person being left behind. You may find your career is no longer serving you or is holding you back, causing feelings of frustration, boredom, and burnout.

No Movement

MoovementIt often feels as if we aren’t moving at all. We say we are “stuck in a rut”, “bored”, or just “tired of the same old thing”. These feelings occur because we aren’t paying attention to our personal growth. We sometimes choose easy paths because we feel comfortable. But we aren’t here to be comfortable. Growth and movement can be uncomfortable or terrifying, but it is also exciting and pushes our boundaries.

When you are feeling stuck or feeling bored, dissatisfied, or lost, a Tarot consultation may help push you in the right direction. You can discover the options you have, options that you can’t see because you are immersed in your feelings. A Tarot consultation helps you uncover the pros and cons of each choice you have, allowing you to make informed decisions.

If you are feeling blocked, the Tarot can identify the blocks and suggest ways around the blocks or people or skills that might aid you to destroy the blocks.

Charting Your Movement

Finally, there are extended spreads that look at your entire background, helping you understand how you got where you are. Once you know where you are and how you got to that point, you can decide where you want to go and who you want to be. Of course, a Tarot consultation will help you chart a path ahead.

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
