Queen of Pentacles

Modern Witch Tarot

You are here to meet the Queen of Pentacles, but she already knows all about you. She is literally the Queen of being prepared. She, or more likely her assistant, has already done research on you and knows what you’re here and what you want, so sit down, relax, and accept the tea she offers. She’s here to help.

The Queen of Pentacles as Working Mother

I see the Queen of Pentacles as the ultimate working mother. She really can work full-time while managing a home and family. And she does it so effortlessly! In fact, she has time to sit and enjoy her garden. But here is her secret, even while sitting she is contemplating what is next, which new project she should take on, and how her portfolio is going.

Pentacles represent material goods; possessions and money. This suit is aligned with the earth and being grounded, common sense, and mindfulness are all parts of this alignment. Earthiness is also related to sensuality and fertility which goes beyond just sex. The Queen of Pentacles is comfortable in her body and with who she is.

Your Inner Queen of Pentacles

As I discussed with the other Queens (Wands, Cups, Swords), the Queen of Pentacles can represent a real person in your life. If so, they are likely a mentor to you, someone who helps you in your professional career or teaches you necessary skills. Don’t necessarily look at people in power; this Queen especially likes to work behind the scenes to make things happen.

This card can also refer to the traits within yourself that represent the Queen of Pentacles’ energy. Getting up an hour early to plan your day channels this Queen’s energy, as does doing a quick pick-up at night, setting out your kid’s clothes, and packing lunches so that mornings are easier to navigate. But she doesn’t necessarily do it all herself! She manages everything through delegation, explaining clearly what result she expects (the laundry folded and put away before dinner) and then allowing her delegate space to do the work.

The Queen of Pentacles and Sharing

Queen of Pentacles

 Gregory Scott Tarot

The one thing to remember about the Queen of Pentacles is that she freely shares the gifts she has. She knows that the more you give out, the more you have. By raising up her co-workers, she herself will rise as well. Equality isn’t an either-or prospect for her because she meets everyone on an equal footing and sees them all as her colleagues navigating life as well as work.

The Dark Side of the Queen of Pentacles

You can be too organized sometimes, so on top of things that creativity and spontaneity are strangled. Because even when she is sitting in her garden she is planning and considering, there isn’t much space just to be and enjoy. Planning every minute of your life can mean forcing yourself into mental states that don’t exist. For example, I write first thing in the morning. If I try to force myself to write in the evening or early afternoon I draw a complete blank. Sometimes the organizational energy of this Queen is such that she expects you to be creative when your brain just wants to take a break.

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.

Greetings Sophrosyne, I resonate with the middle two descriptions of this card, and I have a mentor that this fits with all of them. I aspire to find my tribe of these Queens. Thank you for sharing. Sending lots of love and light. Jaime

I have always been drawn to pentacles and the Queen of Pentacles…well, let’s just say, I can relate. I have been known to plan when I should be resting, taking in the scenery, or paying attention to someone/something else. I also sometimes get the bug to plan and/or clean up at night, when I should be winding down. Oof, do I feel seen here today!
