I am really glad for today’s September Tarot Challenge prompt “How Can I Grow Within My Joys or Build On What I Love?” Before waking this morning I was having an awful anxiety/stress dream that was almost a nightmare. Waking confused and out of sorts isn’t a great way to spend the day and joy is a good antidote.

Surprise, surprise, today’s spread is following the pattern of two Major Arcana cards and one Minor. That Minor is another ten as well!

Justice - Lo Scarabeo - BuildBuild on Justice

Justice is an interesting card and would you believe I’ve never drawn it in a personal spread? In this deck, the Lo Scarabeo Tarot, Justice dresses in red, the color of passion and blood. She weighs a soul, represented by a brilliant star, against the feather of Ma’at, the Egyptian “goddess of truth, justice, balance, and most importantly – order” [source]. The blindfolded baby represents how we should judge without preconceptions, looking at problems with the mind of a newborn child.

Once she makes her decision, the sword of punishment falls, swift and final. I get a Marie Kondo vibe here. Weigh the importance of what is before me and cut out what doesn’t bring me joy. There exists a finality with the Justice card. Make a decision and stick to it.

Build By Lightening My Load

Ten of Wands - Lo Scarabeo - BuildThe Ten of Wands’ meaning is similar. Usually, the load of wands the figure carries is messy and hard to handle. This figure organized the load and carries it with some ease. It is still heavy but manageable.  This card is a direct reference to the new way of collecting and organizing my life and work I began implementing this month. When your load is neat, tidy, and organized, you can manage it better to build towards your goals.

I like this card because the figure is on the home stretch. Only a few hundred yards separate them from their goal and I can feel this energy in my own life. I am getting there!

Build on Death

Death - Lo Scarabeo - BuldDespite the gruesome imagery, Death is a good card for me. It means something is coming to an end so that something else can build. It affirms the meaning of Justice by emphasizing the permanent termination of what isn’t serving me. “Get rid of it,” Death says. “Let something else grow in its space.” The Death card in the Tarot reminds us that everything has a natural end and holding onto things that should be let go isn’t healthy or wise.

But What Does it Mean?

This spread is really affirming and good for me. It tells me I’m on the right track, but not to fear cutting things out of my life permanently because it will just make space for the other projects and interests I cultivate.  After all, in order to build a house, you first need to clear the land!

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot

I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.

Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
