Happy Samhain or Halloween, whichever you celebrate! Change is the important thing to remember for this week, so once you’ve eaten your fill of Halloween candy, start planning for the next week or month.
Emotional Change
First up is the Ten of Cups. Tens are all about fulfillment, conclusions, and moving up. Cups represent emotions and intuition, so this card would usually indicate the end of emotional turmoil, achieving something you’ve had your heart set on, or even celebrating that you’ve finished something and are ready to move on. I think the important word here is change.
For me, what popped into my head is that we are leaving October behind. In the Pacific Northwest November is a time of change. Rain sets in on the west side of the Cascades while fog and chill usually set in on the east side. There is a real goodbye-to-summer vibe for me with this card.
What is ending for you? What change do you want to make?
Change and New Opportunities
The next card is the Two of Wands. Twos represent partnerships of any kind, professional, friendly, or romantic, but it also has a planning aspect. After getting an idea or inspiration some work is needed to see if the idea is worth pursuing and then to decide how you will bring the idea to fruition. The feeling I get with this card today is to look for opportunities to work with others, or to make space for a partner in some aspect of your life.
The Two of Wands also reminds us to look at the bigger picture. He holds a globe and is thinking globally. For you and me thinking globally might just mean looking at how the situation or plan will affect our health, relationships, and financial situation.
Looking at the Ten of Cups and then the Two of Wands it looks like we are moving on and opening up to something new. This might require looking for a partner if only to bounce ideas off of, or it might mean you need to sit down and do some real planning. For me, the second feels more right, especially considering the final card.
Change with Logic
The Queen of Swords! We met her two weeks ago and learned that she sets and enforces rules and boundaries. She relies on logic not emotions when making decisions and it is this side of her that I feel the most today in this spread.
We know we are ending something, even if just a month or season, and the Queen of Swords asks us to look at our current situation with logic and reason. Don’t mourn the past, but look at the future. If you have problems or issues that are holding you back, be ruthless and “slay” them so the road ahead is open and you can move forward with your plans.
Just make sure you understand the problem or issue and how it affects all parts of your life before picking up your sword!

What Clients are Saying about Sophrosyne Tarot
I was advised to ask open-ended questions instead of predictive questions which I thought was helpful because I never would have known if it weren’t for the reader. The reader provided the reading along with some advice too so the entire reading was very thorough and explained in an understandable manner.
Everything said was accurate and helpful for me to identify my flaws in order to grow as a person. I have learned a lot about tarot and what it does to help me.
I am really feeling ending and change right now. It’s beautiful and, as always, a bit scary. I’m ready for it though!
I’m with you there, change is always scary for me as well. I try to face it head-on and not avoid it. Kind of like ripping off a bandaid. A little pain and then it is done. Blessings!
I’m loving and learning how to use my cards. I’m getting the gist of things. Thanks for your posts. I feel the changes of the seasons very much. I’m going to see how to make use of my feelings.
That’s great Lily! Just working with the cards, getting familiar with them, and looking at the images is really helpful and will start you on your journey! Remember, there is the book or “classic” meaning which I see as a framework, and then the meaning that pops in your head or perhaps, as you read the meaning in the book, hits you with an “aha”. That is your intuition kicking in.
I never did get those Tarot cards. Glad someone does, though.
